I hope you are all having a great summer and are getting impatient for the season to begin. I've been away, so lots to catch up on - here goes ... as you all know the new season starts for us on Sunday Aug. 18th, meanwhile lots happening ...
Thursday Aug 1st, 5pm at the New Oxford Pub, Homer St.
First of the Guinness Cup matches. Our remaining matches depend on the results. Here is the schedule: http://internationalchampionscup.com/schedule/
We plan to have the games at the pub, as long as they are on US TV we should be able to get them.
José's Coming Home Party Wednesday Aug. 7th. New Oxford Pub.
We are going to warm-up with a party for a season that we all believe will be both a Special One and a Happy One.
With trust in José we may also be in the final of the Guinness Cup which kicks-off at 6:00 our time, so we'll get going with the party at 6:00 and end late.
We will be doing the prize draws for the shirt signed by the Chelsea Team, a ball signed by the team and the "Special One" prize - a trip for 2 to London, game tickets and 2 nights accommodation.
RSVP so I can let the pub know the numbers.
England (well, a bunch of non-Chelsea fans) v Chelsea Champions of Vancouver
Saturday August 17, 12noon-2pm at Andy Livingstone turf (same venue as the Liverpool games) downtown then afterwards at the London Pub.
We've been challenged after our win against Liverpool. This is a charity game, sponsored by the London Pub. So we may suggest a $10 donation for charity.
If we could get most of our team from the second Liverpool game out then we could be in for another cracker! Please try to make it along so we can encourage more teams to challenge us. Most of the "England" team will be Arsenal fans I hear.
If you are interested in playing 5 a-side on Sunday nights in a great covered facility in North Vancouver, then read on.
We play on first class artificial turf under a dome "the bubble" so when it eventually gets wet and cold again it is a great venue. Games last an hour and kick off either at 6, 7 or 8:00 p.m. Season starts Sept. 20th and lasts for at least 14 games. There is a Christmas/New Year break as well as holiday weekends.
The standard is Sunday football standard, so it helps to be playing regularly or at least be fit enough to do so, otherwise you might struggle - like your's truly! Some of you who came out for the Liverpool game said you'd be interested, so let me know. If you don't live on the North Shore we can usually get you a ride from downtown or east Van.

If you are a returning player, I will send you the team ID Number shortly for you to register.
